First Week 5 winner-flip result is in.

HASHMARK desk · Friday, Oct 2, 2026

Western Kentucky visited New Mexico State on Thursday (7:00 CT, CBSSN). Live HASHMARK had posted a winner flip: WKU −13.0 / 77.5% against Vegas NM State −2.5, O/U 54.5. Final: New Mexico State 34, Western Kentucky 13 (NMSU athletics / ESPN box). Aggies SU and cover; HX flip MISS.

James Jones ran for 155 yards and a touchdown; De’Marcus Peters returned an interception for a score (ESPN). Rodney Tisdale Jr. threw for 314 yards with an interception for WKU. The card was one of the largest absolute HX–Vegas disagreements on the early Week 5 board — and the first flip result of the weekend went against the model.

Same night: North Texas 45, Tulsa 44 in OT (ESPN). HX had Tulsa −0.3 / 50.9% vs Vegas Tulsa −1.5 — both sides leaned Tulsa.

Why it matters

Honest early-weekend tape note; social-ready “flip miss” before Friday’s ESPN/FOX windows.
