No. 20 Iowa (4–1) plays at Washington (3–2) Friday at 8:00 CT. Quarterback Hank Brown is questionable with a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder from last week’s loss to Ohio State. Kirk Ferentz said Brown will likely be cleared medically, but “we can’t count on that.” Jeremy Hecklinski has been taking first-team reps, and Jimmy Sullivan is the backup. Brown has 832 passing yards, five touchdowns and one interception in five starts.

HX has Washington −1.9, 55.2%. Vegas has Washington −2.5 with a 41.5 total. FPI goes the other way: Iowa by 3.5 with a 60% win probability.

HX rates Washington 25th (3.24) and Iowa 23rd (3.68). Iowa is the stronger team on HX’s sheet, so the Huskies’ edge on the board comes from playing at home.

Why it matters

A ranked team on a Friday night with a quarterback question, and FPI on the other side from HX and the book. That makes it a clean before-and-after test.
